This course for pre-intermediate learners presents vital aspects of the English language, with content at the B1.1 level of the CEFR. By covering the essential grammar and vocabulary needed to talk about the past, express purpose, explain reasons and results and converse about travel, the course gives learners the necessary tools to start using the language straight away. Learners also see how to use adjectives in a range of contexts, talk about typical household tasks and give basic definitions.
Each unit starts with one or more Masterclasses, with an AI teacher presenting new grammatical or lexical content. Learners then use this information to participate in role-play and conversation activities, which encourage them to use the language spontaneously and meaningfully.
The writing and speaking assignments that follow offer the chance to use the language in a range of situations. The student needs to follow the instructions to create short written and spoken texts, which allow them to reuse the new language independently.
The course also includes periodic tests to assess progress, and an AI final test contains a range of exercises to check the student's comprehension of the objectives covered in level B1.1.
